Meet the Team: Jessica McDonagh, Enablement Manager

There’s always cause for excitement when we get to welcome a new member to the Event Genius and Festicket family.

During our ‘Meet the team’ blog series, we’ll be shining the spotlight on the people helping make the magic happen, finding out their stories, ambitions, the live entertainment experiences that shaped them, and more.

In this latest post we caught up with one of the newest members of our Commercial Team, Jessica McDonagh, who has joined as our Enablement Manager.

Why did you choose to join Event Genius?

‍I was excited by the passion of the team. There's a real focus on levelling up the tech and partnerships Event Genius and Festicket offers to the events industry, and all of the growth is in really exciting, real-world-relevant directions.

‍What attracted you to the live events and festival industry? Or what do you enjoy most about the industry if you've previously worked in it?

‍I love all things live events! From craft fairs to gin festivals and touring science exhibitions, to multi-day music festivals and retreats, there's nothing quite like experiencing creativity with like-minded people.

‍What do you hope to achieve at Event Genius?

‍I'm excited to be a part of the journey into the new world of events - so much has changed during the pandemic and yet so much has stayed essentially the same.

I'm keen to help our Commercial Team continue their growth, to build the best partnerships, based on innovation and pivoting trends, whilst consistently delivering on the basics.

‍What are you most excited about in your new role here?

‍Getting to work with people who are as likely to be seen at a festival for knowing the best tech to run that festival. The level of authentic passion for doing what we do - creating unforgettable memories centred around shared experiences - makes it hard to have a boring day at work!

‍As a fan, what is your favourite festival or gig memory?

‍So many! Daft Punk's last gig in Ireland at Electric Picnic was something I'll never forget. Equally seeing Chris Smither and The Suitcase Junkett in the most intimate setting, in The White Horse pub in Cork, was just magic!

Jessica will mainly be working remotely from Cork in the Republic of Ireland, but will be hopping over to our London office regularly. We also have offices across the world, including in Europe, North America and Australia, and are actively growing our teams across all these territories.

We’re a close-knit team of passionate music fans and event-goers dedicated to making the industry a better place for fans and organisers alike, and are always on the lookout for other like-minded individuals to join the family.
