The early May bank holiday has always been a busy ticketing and access control weekend, but this year we were thrilled to deliver our busiest ever cashless weekend, becoming the first UK company to service four cashless events simultaneously, across two countries.
By using Event Genius Pay, fans attending Annie Mac’s Lost & Found Festival (Malta), Forbidden Forest (UK), Pier Jam (UK) and Chelmsford Racecourse (UK) were all given the chance to pre-purchase credits online. On arrival, these credits were loaded onto RFID enabled wristbands, received in exchange for their ticket, that could be used to buy drinks, food and merchandise with a quick tap at the events’ bars or vendors.
Over recent years, ensuring our award-winning cashless POS, Event Genius Pay, was developed to be robust, reliable and scalable has been a high priority for the business. To come away from a weekend that saw our team travel over 4500 miles across the UK and Europe, to deliver events processing in excess of 200,000 transactions via 700 devices, is the proof that the system is just that; robust, reliable and scalable.
